Indonesia said Thursday it will enforce a ban on buffalo at street protests after President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono expressed his hurt at being compared to one of the bucolic beasts.
They say you need a thick hide for public office but Indonesia's president, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, has said he was hurt when his photo was affixed to a buffalo's bottom at a recent rally.
Enraged by protesters likening him to a "big and stupid" water buffalo, Indonesia's president has ordered the beasts and other animals banned at street rallies, a decision some Indonesians said shows their leader can't handle criticism.
